There is no requirement to supply a referral from your doctor to see a Podiatrist. With that said, if you have been referred, please bring a copy of the referral letter.
At Foot Centre Group your initial consultation will go for 45 minutes. This time allows your Podiatrist to thoroughly examine and understand your needs as well as providing the necessary time to assess your condition appropriately.We will also develop a comprehensive management plan that will enable you to achieve your goals.
We offer home visits from all of our locations. We can also attend nursing homes and residential care facilities. Please call our clinic for additional information and pricing for a home visit.
A podiatrist is a University qualified, registered healthcare professional that is skilled to assess, manage, diagnose and treat foot and lower limb conditions.
Conditions may include musculoskeletal injuries, skin conditions, sporting injuries, foot arthritis, paediatric foot problems, the effects of chronic disease on lower limbs and feet along with many other injuries and ailments related to the feet and lower limbs.
Yes, we do treat children of any age at our clinics!
Private health funds do cover ancillary health services that include podiatry. Whether your cover includes podiatry will depend on the level of cover that you have with your provider. Whether you are eligible to claim back your podiatry charges will depend on the scope of your insurance coverage.
We accept Eftpos, Visa & MasterCard, HICAPS and cash payments.
For clients with chronic diseases and complex care needs there may be eligibility for a medicare rebate under the CDM scheme. For medicare benefits to be payable for podiatry services, a client must be referred to a podiatrist by a GP. There are frequency limits to the number of visitations available however with the maximum amount being 5 per calendar year.
We pride ourselves on offering the highest quality podiatry care, and as a result, we are unable to offer bulk billing on the Chronic disease management plan (formally known as an EPC). Our consultation fees apply to all visits, and a Medicare rebate can be issued to you on the spot with a valid EPC referral. There is a small out of pocket expense on all appointments.
The frequency and number of visits will depend on the nature of the condition you are being treated for. A treatment plan will be discussed with your podiatrist at your first appointment and this is where the frequency of visits will be determined.
