Expert in Foot Biomechanics, Custom Orthotics & High-Performance Training for Athletes
Jarrad Matheson is a highly experienced Sports & Musculoskeletal Podiatrist and Sports Scientist, expert in foot biomechanics, custom orthotics, and performance rehabilitation. He holds a Bachelor of Podiatry from La Trobe University and a Master’s in Strength and Conditioning from Edith Cowan University — ranked #2 in the world for this program.
Jarrad’s approach integrates biomechanics, manual therapy, and strength training to optimise movement and performance across the entire body. He focuses on how foot posture and lower-limb alignment influence the kinetic chain — from the feet to the hips, spine, and neck — helping athletes move efficiently, prevent injury, and achieve peak performance.
Each consultation includes comprehensive joint range of motion testing, muscle strength assessment, and kinetic-chain analysis to identify compensations and biomechanical inefficiencies.
Jarrad combines:
- Hands-on therapy — including dry needling, ankle and midfoot joint manipulation, and soft tissue mobilisation
- Strength and conditioning principles — to rebuild control, power, and stability
- Performance orthotic therapy — custom-designed for runners and athletes to improve mechanics, reduce injury risk, and enhance performance
His clinical expertise covers a wide range of conditions, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, bursitis, ankle arthritis, bunion pain, and complex post-surgical rehabilitation.
Having played in the VFL and worked with multiple Great Britain Olympic 100m sprinters (Tokyo 2021 Olympics) as well as the Women’s Olympic Bobsled Team, Jarrad brings elite-level insight into speed, power, and athletic efficiency. His four years at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London further refined his skill in managing advanced orthopaedic and arthritic conditions alongside leading foot and ankle surgeons. Whether you’re a competitive runner, field athlete, or returning from injury, Jarrad’s evidence-based, biomechanical approach helps you move better, recover faster, and perform at your best.
