More than just nail and skin treatment
Whilst we as podiatrists are masters at cutting nails, we have so much more to offer to our patients. Our services at
Foot Centre Group include; general foot care, orthotic therapy, management of sports injuries, ingrown toenail treatment,
dry needling, children’s foot care and much more!
What does general foot care include?
General foot care covers a large variety of treatments, including;
- Trimming and filing nails
- Removal of corns and callus
- Treatment for cracked heels
- Treatment of fungal nails
- Management of plantar warts and athlete’s foot
What is orthotic therapy?
Orthotic therapy is the use of a device, inserted into the shoe to redistribute the plantar pressures for the patient –
this simply means altering the forces that are going through the bottom of the foot.
The use of orthotics can be associated with a variety of different conditions, but is generally adopted for reducing a
patient’s pain, correcting foot posture and offering extra stability and support for the foot and ankle. Custom made
orthotics are designed specifically for individual patients to ensure their needs are met. We also offer off the shelf
orthotics as an alternative.
Here at Foot Centre Group we are lucky to have our own orthotic lab, which means we can alter your orthotics on the
spot, no waiting around!
Which sports injuries do we manage?
Here at Foot Centre Group we manage a vast range of sports injuries related to the lower limb, ankle and foot.
These injuries include, but are not limited to;
- Stress fractures
- Ligament ruptures and tears
- General knee pain
- Shin splints
- Ankle injuries – Strains and tears
- Turf toe
- Achilles and calf strains
- Plantar fasciitis
We have a fully equipped strength and conditioning space to assist you in your rehabilitation.
What is dry needling and how could it benefit me?
At Foot Centre Group we offer dry needling to specific patients who we believe may benefit. Dry needling is the
process in which very fine needles are inserted into the skin to target myofascial trigger points and thus decrease
any associated pain.
Often the benefits of dry needling are seen immediately after treatment. Some of these benefits include; release
of tension in muscles and reduced pain in conditions such as plantar fasciitis, shin splints, ankle sprains and forefoot
At FCG we also offer shockwave therapy to assist in your recovery.
What can A podiatrist do for my child’s foot care?
All our Podiatrists at FCG are qualified and confident in treating children. Some conditions that we treat include;
toe walking, in-toeing, curly toes, tarsal coalition, Sever’s disease, heel pain, warts, flat feet and ingrown toenails.
If your child is experiencing lower limb (knee, ankle, foot) pain, tripping during activity or you’re concerned they
are missing developmental milestones we suggest a consultation with one of our Podiatrists.
It is evident that Podiatric care goes far beyond general treatments. If you have any questions about what we treat
as Podiatrists or think you could benefit from seeing a foot doctor, call us on 9553 0044.
